Thomas L. Downey 79, of Melrose Park passed away peacefully on January
23 with family at his bedside. Korean veteran, he drove semi-trucks,
volunteer driver for the Cavalier Drum & Bugle Corp, and loved to dance.
He leaves his beloved wife of 55 years Carole (nee Rion), his son Thomas
Jr. (Sharon), grandsons Tyler, Drew, Jason, Ryan Clark, granddaughter
Stephanie Beilke, and eight great-grand children. Tom was preceded in death
by his parents George and Leota Downey, daughters Kellie and Terri, siblings
Sara and Richard, and survived by his other siblings Patricia, Shirley, Robert and
Nancy, many nieces and nephews, cousins in Alton, IL. Services will be Private.
