Kenneth Steven Swain (March 5, 1947 – January 10, 2021), loving and endeared husband of 44 years to surviving wife and lifetime partner, Betsy V. Swain. Ken is also survived by his son Matthew Swain (Sasha), and stepchildren, Sara Vazquez (Victor Ceballos), Evan Gallegos and Arturo Vazquez (Sandra), and his grandchildren, Liliana and Jasper Swain, Robert, Julian and Noemi Gallegos, Amaris Vazquez-Ronsen (Ashley), his brother Ronald Swain and Sister Sharon Blom (Harvey).

A plumber and plumbing instructor by trade, the better part of his life was devoted to the cause of justice and human rights for all.  He was a loving partner to his wife, father to his children and foster father to a number of furry children over the years (Maya, Jasmine, Sammy, Foster and Pearl).  In his own words:  “As my part in the show has come to an end it has been a great run; sometimes backstage, sometimes in the spotlight, tragedy, comedy, erotica, politica, happiness and despair, serenity and mania, love and heartbreak, soring free bird and wounded duck; suppression and revolution.  It has been my great privilege to share the width and breadth and depth and time briefly with all of you and with all of humanity.”

Kens wishes were for a simple cremation and his ashes to be “spread somewhere over the water.  Ashes to ashes, dust to dust, with some water transport.”

Dear Ken. You will be greatly missed by those whose lives you touched. I will always remember you as a strong , loving husband to my mother. I will always cherish the small talks we’ve had. Rest In Peace

Hello Betsy, and of course dear Ken! Somehow I believe that you can read these words from friends and family! I do hope so! I loved those words you penned about your life; not about your accomplishments, but about how you lived! How wonderful, and how realistic!
Betsy I always will remember 44 years ago when you and Ken so proudly and lovingly joined together as husband and wife. Your new life in Georgia became the story that those who have gotten to know Ken will best remember. Loving, caring, friend, all words I’ve read and heard most recently…how sad we all couldn’t have gotten to know him longer and better! But….he is now with God! no more pain and suffering, just beauty and hopefully more “furry” friends🐶🐱!
Be filled with joyful memories Betsy! Reach out to your family and love on them!
Ken, hear me now when I say, when we meat again😇!
