Harry J. Byrd, Age 90 passed away on  March 23, 2024 due to complications from Parkinson’s Disease. Harry was born to Harry and Mary (May) Bird in 1934 in Newfoundland. He was beloved by his brother Lawrence, sister Lillian and stepmother Anne Bird. He immigrated to the US in 1947 and, with his family, made Chicago, IL his home.

He married Noreen in 1960 and they raised four children: Marianne (Wayne) Lorenz, Patrick Byrd, Jeanne Reed, and John Byrd, who loved him dearly. The family moved from Chicago to Naperville in 1972. Mark Lorenz, Bryan Lorenz, Michael Reed, Daniel Reed and Shannon Reed share the honor of calling him grandpa.

Harry is survived by his loving wife, Noreen, his four children, his five grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father Harry, his mother May, his stepmother Anne, his brother Lawrence and his sister Lillian.

Visitation and funeral mass will be held on Friday, April 5, 2024 at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, 1500 Brookdale Rd. Naperville, IL. Visitation will take place at 1:00 pm with mass following at 2:00 pm.
