Alejandra Ramirez Cortez, passed away on July 2, 2022 at Mac Neal Hospital  in Berwyn, Illinois surrounded by her loving family.

Alejandra was from Tonalapa del Sur Guerrero, Mexico and immigrated to Chicago in the late 70’s.

Married to Lorenzo Pedro for many years and  in their union of marriage had their loving children : Ramon Pedro, Magdalena Pedro, Gildardo Pedro and Maria de Lourdes Pedro.  Dearest grandmother of: Karla, Isabella, Izaak Fond Mother-in-law to Lupe and Gregorio. Preceeded in death by her three children: †Rosalba, †Rene, and †Armando.

Amá, Doña Ale, Jandita, La Polaca and Comadre endearing names she was called by her family, friends, customers of the store, the church and community.

Doña Ale was a pillar of the community, she was an entrepreneur, a visionary of bringing a taste of the  mother land Guerrero Mexico  to the Midwest and a faithul parishioner of La  Iglesia Madre de Las Americas when it was called Our Lady of Tepeyac and St. Casimir Church she will be greatly missed by her family and all who knew her.

Alejandra was the Proprietor of Super Mercado Guerrero located at 3100 West Cermak Road in Little Village/Pilsen communities but people from all of Chicago, suburbs of Illinois, Wisconsin, Indiana, and Michigan would come for her food prepared on the weekends from her famous Cochinita Estilo Guerrero, Mole Verde & tamales Nejos. Tamales Rojos  & Verdes, Carnitas, barbacoa, Doña Ale as she was known was the first proprietor to bring products from Guerrero.

Visitation: Wednesday, July 6, 2022 at Iglesia Madre de Las Américas/Mother of the Americas Catholic Church, 2226 S. Whipple (Corners Whipple & Cermak Road), Chicago, Illinois 60623 from 2:30 p.m. till 8:00 p.m.

Funeral Service: Thursday, July 7, 2022 at Iglesia Madre de Las Américas/Mother of the Americas Catholic Church, 2226 S. Whipple (Corners of  Whipple & Cermak Road), Chicago, Illinois 60623. Celebration of Life Mass 11:00 a.m. Burial St Casimir Cemetery, 4401 West 111^th Street, Chicago, Illinois 60655.

Alejandra Ramírez Cortez falleció el 2 de julio de 2022 en el Hospital Mac Neal en Berwyn, Illinois, rodeada de su amada familia.

Alejandra era de Tonalapa del Sur Guerrero, México y emigró a Chicago a finales de los 70’s.

Lorenzo Pedro  en su unión de matrimonio tuvieron sus amados hijos: Ramón Pedro, Magdalena Pedro, Gildardo Pedro y María de Lourdes Pedro. Queridísima abuela de: Karla, Isabella y Izaak Suegra  de Lupe y Gregorio. Precedida en la muerte por sus tres hijos: †Rosalba, †René y †Armando.

Amá, Doña Ale, Jandita, La Polaca y Comadre nombres entrañables con los que la llamaban su familia, amigos, clientes de la tienda, los miembros de la iglesia y la comunidad.

Doña Ale fue un pilar de la comunidad, fue una emprendedora, una visionaria de llevar el sabor de la madre tierra de Guerrero México al Medio Oeste y una fiel feligresa de La Iglesia Madre de Las Américas cuando se llamaba Nuestra Señora de Tepeyac y San Casimiro  su familia y todos los que la conocieron la extrañarán mucho.

Alejandra era la propietaria del Super Mercado Guerrero ubicado en 3100 West Cermak Road en las comunidades de Little Village / Pilsen, pero la gente de todo Chicago, los suburbios de Illinois, Wisconsin, Indiana y Michigan venían por su comida preparada los fines de semana de su famosa Cochinita Estilo Guerrero, Mole Verde y tamales Nejos. Tamales Rojos & Verdes, Carnitas, barbacoa, Doña Ale como se le conocía fue la primera propietaria en traer productos de Guerrero
