Robert Fred Schmid

Robert Fred Schmid, 96, died peacefully with family at his side on June 6, 2025 after a brief hospitalization. He is survived by Evelyn, his beloved wife of 72 years. Bob was the proud and loving father to his three children: Don Schmid, Ellen Maley, and Julie (Steve) Ruffolo. He cherished six grandchildren: Christine, Lauren (Matt), Michelle, Nicole, Stacey (Jack), and Ben. His five great grandchildren Olivia, Grace, Connor, Zoe and Violet gave him endless joy.

After college, Bob was a pilot in the USAF. After 4 1/2 years of service, he became an architect who specialized in food service design and consultant, working for over 60 years. Bob always lived life to the fullest. He was happiest spending time with family and traveling and socializing with friends. In childhood, he loved the outdoors on the Fox River. Later, he created the same kind of wonderful memories at Green Lake for his family and friends.
