Fraga, to Donna, Texas, before settling and laying deep roots in the Pilsen neighborhood of Chicago, Illinois. Ines arrived with the vital support of her sisters-in-law, raising their children together and supporting one another through every stage of life. She lovingly helped care for her nieces and nephews while tending to her own growing family. A faithful parishioner of St. Procopius Church, Ines generously volunteered her time cooking and serving delicious food at the annual kermés.

Ines was the true heart of her family and a beacon of light to everyone around her. An extraordinary cook, her kitchen was a place of comfort, joy, and togetherness. Her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren cherished learning from her and gathering for her homemade tortillas, pozole, tamales, and other beloved recipes. Through these family traditions, each generation felt her profound warmth and affection. Ines was a mother figure not only to her own children, but to countless friends and relatives who knew her gentle, welcoming spirit.

Her dedication to caring for others was matched by her commitment to learning and personal growth. In 2018, she earned a diploma in Child Development and Nutrition from the Service Employees International Union (SEIU), alongside her certification in at-home childcare—formalizing the incredible skill, knowledge, and heart she had brought to raising children her entire life.

Her devotion to her family ran deep across every generation. Ines served as a guiding force for her granddaughters as they navigated motherhood, offering gentle encouragement and confidence. She eagerly passed down her traditional home remedies to her children and grandchildren, keeping them healthy and cared for with time-tested remedies and advice. During quiet moments of bonding, she loved sharing stories from her past and offering thoughtful guidance that her family will treasure forever.

Ines lived a vibrant and active life. She took great pleasure in her morning workouts, daily walks, and long phone conversations with family and friends. She loved tuning into her favorite shows, including Caso Cerrado and Exatlón. Above all, her greatest joy was filling her home with family—watching her grandchildren play and joke together, even as adults, playfully arguing over who was her secret favorite.

Her spirit will live on through every recipe shared, every lesson remembered, and every story told. To her family, she was truly a saint, and she will be missed beyond measure.
