Marco Manzie

April 3, 1938 — April 28, 2026

Marco Manzie, 88, owner of Airko Heating Co. in Berwyn, Illinois for over 50 years, passed away peacefully on April 28th, 2026.

He is lovingly remembered as the cherished son of the late Andrew and Pearl Manzie; a dear brother to Rose Rayfield and the late Frederick “Rick” (Barbara) Manzie; a proud and devoted father to Pearl, Marco Jr., Meaghan (Scott), and Nicole; and a loving grandfather to Ryan, Kevin, and Ava, who brought him so much pride and joy.

He proudly served in the United States Army as a member of the 9th Combat Engineers, serving in Germany, where his leadership, strength, and discipline were forged. Those qualities carried into every part of his life.

He was known for his generous heart, strong presence, and one-of-a-kind personality—he loved to laugh, tell jokes, and could talk to anyone, often picking up the phone just to connect. But what many people didn’t know was just how much of a true humanitarian he was.

He never looked for recognition or spoke about what he did; he simply did what was right. He lived that out in his actions, often repairing or completely replacing heating equipment in customers homes for free when he knew they truly couldn’t afford it. Especially families with children or the elderly, refusing to leave anyone without heat. It didn’t matter the hour, the weather, or the cost to him. If someone needed help, Marco was there.

Material things meant little to him; he believed in working hard so he could give to others. That was the kind of man he was.

Airko Heating Co. wasn’t just a business to him; it was his life’s work and purpose. He built it with his own two hands and gave it everything he had. It was how he provided, how he served, and how he made a difference, always giving more than he ever received.

Though our hearts are broken, his memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew him—through his laughter, his stories, and the connections he made so easily. He will be deeply missed, but never forgotten.

For those who would like to visit and remember him, he will be laid to rest at Queen of Heaven Cemetery in Hillside, Illinois, at the Manzie headstone (Section 33, Block 48, Lot 8).
