If you were fortunate enough to know Linda, you knew how deeply she cared for others and how much love she had to give.
Linda S. Case, age 73, of St. John, Indiana, passed away peacefully on August 28, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. Cherished wife of 51 years to the late Bruce J. Case. Loving mother of Bruce, Jr. (Tammie), Krystin Obermeier (Bill), and Robyn Case (David). She was a cherished Nina to Bruce, III (Colleen), Justin, Alex, Bethaney (Nathanial), Bryce, Mason (Jourdan), Logan, Sean, Ava, Henry, Kaitlynne, and Zachary. She was also a beloved great-grandmother to Kynzlee, Bruce IV, Holly, Xander, Eneveigha, and Elodie Jo, as well as a fond auntie, beloved niece, and cherished cousin. Linda was preceded in death by her parents, Lynwood “Lyn” and June Rudolph; her brother, Gary; her in-laws, Frank and Virginia Case; and her brother-in-law, Wayne.
In her late 30s, while working for Daley’s Ambulance, Linda returned to school to become an EMT. She went on to serve her community as a volunteer firefighter for the Town of St. John, Indiana. Linda later became a police dispatcher for the Town of St. John and then Lake County, Indiana. She dedicated many years to helping and protecting others before retiring in 2019.
Linda held a special place in her heart for the officers she worked with, whom she lovingly considered her own children. They affectionately called her “Mom.” Her years as a dispatcher were among the happiest and most cherished times of her life. The friendships and bonds she formed with those she worked alongside remained a lasting source of pride and joy.
Linda found great joy in cooking for her family and friends and cherished every moment spent in their company. She had a heart of gold and a generous spirit that touched everyone who knew her. If you were fortunate enough to know Linda, you knew how deeply she cared for others and how much love she had to give.
Her kindness, warmth, generosity, and unconditional love for those around her will be deeply missed. Linda leaves behind a beautiful legacy of love, compassion, service, and cherished memories that will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
We take comfort in knowing that she is now reunited with our dad and faithful companion, Lucky, in Heaven.
