Hector Serrano Sr.

Hector Serrano Sr., age 72 Born January 20, 1954, , passed away unexpectedly on June 5, 2026. He lived his life to the absolute fullest, doing things he enjoyed and loved to do. His biggest passion was sports and eating . If there was a game on, you knew where to find him — and he’d make sure you had a seat and a snack to watch it with him.

Above all, Hector’s heart was with his family. He loved spending time with his grandkids more than anything. He was the kind of grandpa who always took care of everyone else first. He made sure his grandkids were taken care of and, more importantly, that we always knew we were loved. You never left his house without a hug, advice, and a full stomach.He leaves behind Lena, Tony , Sylvia , Beatrice , Joesph , Tony and Alejandro , 32 grandkids and now reunited with his beloved mother Anita , sister Dahlia and his two beloved sons Christoper and Hector. We will miss his laugh, his loyalty, and the way he showed up for everyone.

He lived big, loved hard, and made sure we all knew it.

Hector's Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 10, 2026 from 3-8 pm at Hursen Funeral Home & Crematory, 4001 West Roosevelt Road (SW corner of Roosevelt & Mannheim Roads), Hillside/Westchester. where Celebration of Life Service will be held 9 am on Thursday, June 11, 2026. Burial will follow at Queen of Heaven Cemetery1400 S. Wolf Road Hillside, Illinois.
