Farag Salib Girgis

March 12, 1935 — October 14, 2026

“I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Finally, there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness.”
— 2 Timothy 4:7–8

With hearts filled with love, gratitude, and unwavering faith in the promise of the Resurrection, we bid farewell to our beloved Farag Salib Girgis, a remarkable man whose life was a testament to faith, selflessness, courage, and unconditional love.

Farag lived not for himself, but for those he loved. His generosity knew no bounds, and his kindness touched countless lives. He gave freely of his time, his strength, and his resources, always putting the needs of others before his own. His legacy lives on not only through his family, but also through the many people whose lives he quietly and profoundly changed.

One of his greatest acts of love was leaving behind a wonderful career and a comfortable life in Egypt to begin anew in a foreign country. He embraced the challenges of starting over, worked tirelessly and made countless sacrifices to provide a brighter future for his children and grandchildren. He never sought recognition or praise. Their happiness, success, and well-being were his greatest rewards.

Perhaps what we will remember most is his beautiful smile, which never faded, even in the face of suffering. Through life’s greatest challenges and even during his most difficult days, he rarely complained. He faced adversity with extraordinary strength, quiet dignity, and an unshakable faith in God.

He was known for saying, “I’m not afraid of anything.” These were not merely words, but a reflection of the courage with which he lived his entire life.

Another phrase he proudly repeated was, “I have always honored my father and mother.” Honoring his parents was one of his deepest convictions, reflecting the values of faith, respect, loyalty, and devotion that guided his life and that he passed on to future generations.

His kindness extended far beyond his immediate family. He helped so many people throughout his lifetime, often without anyone knowing. The blessings of his generosity will continue to be felt for years to come.

Although our hearts ache at his departure, we find comfort in knowing that his earthly suffering has ended. After faithfully fighting the good fight, he has completed his journey and entered the eternal joy and peace of our Lord’s presence.

His life was a gift, his love was a blessing, and his memory will forever be our treasure.

His Beloved Family

Farag leaves behind his devoted and loving wife, Galila Girgis, who shared with him a lifetime of love, family, and cherished memories.

He is lovingly remembered by his daughters:

● Sherine Hanna, Nagui Hanna, and their children Angela, Elizabeth, and Rebecca.
● Mary-Ann Girgis and her husband Raphael Gorgy.
● Manar Girgis and her children Jacenta and Joseph

He is also lovingly remembered by his dear sister, Elen Salib, her husband Kamal Ibrahim, and their children Jehan, Amanda, and MaryAnn.

He was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Salib Girgis and Nozha Tadros, and his dear siblings Mekhail, Ibrahim, Soliman, Youssef, Naguib, Marian, and Basima, and his son Sherif Girgis.

We take comfort in imagining the joyful reunion with those who went before him, welcoming him into the eternal embrace of our Heavenly Father.

Until we meet again, may the Lord grant us peace, comfort, and the strength to carry forward the beautiful legacy of love and faith he leaves behind.

“I desire to depart and be with Christ, which is far better.”
— Philippians 1:23

Rest in the Paradise of Joy, our beloved Farag.

Your smile will remain in our hearts, your love will guide us, and your memory will live forever in all of us.
