Douglas Earl Domineck

Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Douglas Earl Domineck, affectionately known as Doug or Country. Doug’s unexpected departure has shattered the hearts of many. He was deeply loved and will be missed by all who knew him.

Doug was born on February 3, 1964, in Warren, Arkansas, to his loving parents Fred and Marie Domineck. He confessed his faith in Christ at an early age in Arkansas and was baptized again at St. Stephen’s, AME in Chicago, Illinois. He was raised alongside his brothers Achie, Fred, Jimmy, Randy, and Rodney, and sisters Dorothy, Shirley, and Virginia. He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings Lorrane, Benny, Jerry, and Lois Domineck.

As a young adult, Doug left Warren, Arkansas, and later relocated to Milwaukee, Wisconsin, before settling in Chicago, Illinois, in 2005. He married his beloved wife Arletta in 2007. Doug worked at Synnex in Romeville, Illinois, for 11 years and at Walmart in Downers Grove, Illinois, as a forklift driver. Doug leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife Arletta Domineck; his children Daquesha, Daquaven, Daquan, Megan, Markus, McKinley, Keith, Kenyetta, and Bernard; grandchildren Daquan Jr., Creed, Christopher, Ariyanna, Ja’nai, Kamaria, Makeri, Maliyah, McKenzie, and Zakiyah; great-grandchild Karter; daughters-in-law Chrishonna and Carmen; and a host of siblings, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who will miss him dearly.

Doug brought so much love and joy to everyone around him. His smile and laughter could brighten any day. He was a joy to be around and always enjoyed life. Doug loved deeply and was always willing to help others. He especially loved his family and made sure to stay connected; calling or texting just to check in and remind you that he loved you. No matter what he was going through, he made sure the people he loved were okay. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.

Celebrating The Life & Legacy

Doug was a proud family man who could light up a room without even trying. He loved to tell jokes, have fun, and his laughter was contagious. Doug was courageous and spoke his mind. He loved life and food, unconditionally. His love wrapped around him in life and stretched endlessly beyond it. He was a man of quiet strength, deep compassion, and unwavering love. To know him was to know kindness, the kind that showed up without being asked, that listened without judgment, and that gave without expecting anything in return. Now there is a silence, a heavy space that cannot be filled; a loss that is soul-crushing and heartbreaking beyond words. The ache settles deep and stays. Yet even in sorrow, the longing remains. In every laugh that catches us off guard, in every vivid memory that rises, and in the love that refuses to fade; he is still with us.

Forever in Our Hearts

You left this world sooner than we hoped, but your love remains rooted deep in the lives you touched and the memories you gave us. You were a son, a brother, a friend, a mentor a man of wisdom, warmth, and gentle strength. In your smile lived light, in your words lived wisdom, and in your actions lived love. We’ll remember how you made us feel seen, heard, and valued. We’ll cherish the laughs, the quiet talks, the shared stories, and the silent strength you carried. Through all seasons of life, your spirit guided us. It still does. You may be gone in form, but you remain in the way we live, love, and care for each other. Heaven gained a soul, but we carry your light within us.

Prayers

Thank you for the life of our beloved Douglas. We are grateful for the love he gave, the lives he touched, and the legacy he leaves behind. Comfort our grieving hearts. Wrap us in your peace and surround us with your grace. Help us live with hope, walk in love, and carry on with courage, knowing Douglas now rests in your eternal care. Amen.
