Dennis Beechy

Dennis Beechy, 66, of Orland Park, Illinois, passed away peacefully on July 3, 2026, with those he loved most by his side.  

Dennis was born and raised in Oak Forest, Illinois, to Bill and Jackie Beechy. He grew up in a close-knit family where he learned the value of hard work, loyalty, and perseverance—qualities that shaped the man he would become.

In 1979, Dennis became a quadriplegic after a diving accident, but with determination and the support of family and friends, he did not let his disability define him.

In God's perfect timing, Dennis met the love of his life, Marianne. They were married in May 1993 and spent more than 30 years building a life centered on faith, love, and family while proudly raising their three beautiful children, Grace, Nancy, and Kevin.

Dennis was known for his quick wit, infectious smile, dry sense of humor, and his ability always to find the positive in every situation. He could be stubborn and opinionated at times, but it always came from a place of care. He was a loyal Chicago Cubs and Chicago Bears fan, but nothing meant more to him than being with his family and close friends.

Dennis is survived by the family that meant everything to him, his wife, Marianne Beechy; his mother, Jacquelyn (Beechy) Mazzoni; his children, Grace Beechy (fiancé Brian), Nancy Beechy, and Kevin (Taylor) Beechy; his siblings, Kim (Tom) Reid, Wayde (Laura) Beechy, Billy (Kristy) Beechy, and Karen (Paul) Ilg; grandchildren Ryan, Rylee, Chance, Benny, Theo, and Melody; and many fond nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Bill Beechy.

Throughout Dennis’s life, friends became family, and family became friends. He showed us what it means to keep going, to trust God through every season, and to find joy even in life’s hardest moments. Though our hearts grieve his absence, we rejoice knowing that he has been made whole and is now in the presence of his Lord and Savior (Philippians 3:21).

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, August 22, 2026, at Hope Covenant Church, 14401 West Avenue, Orland Park, Illinois Please feel free to drop in and share memories with us during the public visitation from 10:00 am until 12:00 pm. If you are able, we would love for you to bring your favorite memories and or photos on a 3x5 card, or leave them here online.

A private service will follow the visitation.
