Dennis Beechy

Dennis Beechy, 66, of Orland Park, Illinois, passed away peacefully on July 3, 2026, surrounded by the family he cherished.Dennis grew up in Oak Forest, Illinois, with his parents, Jackie and Bill, and his brothers and sisters. As the middle of three boys in a family of five children, he developed a competitive spirit that stayed with him throughout his life. He attended Oak Forest High School, and growing up, worked for his father, Bill, alongside his brothers. Together, they learned the roofing trade and worked at his father's Interstate Battery franchise. Through those early years, he gained a strong work ethic and a deep appreciation for honest labor—lessons that truly shaped the man he became.

In 1979, Dennis became a quadriplegic as the result of a diving accident, yet he refused to let his disability define him. Showing incredible resilience, and lifted by the strong support of his parents, family, and friends, he rebuilt his life and later found his perfect match in Marianne. The two fell in love and were married in May 1993, sharing a deep devotion and proudly raising their three children: Grace, Nancy, and Kevin. During their marriage, Dennis learned to drive an adaptive vehicle from his wheelchair, attended college, and earned a degree in CAD (Computer-Aided Design). He worked for friends and eventually developed a passion for online sales. Twenty years after his injury, Dennis successfully ran his own business, taking great pride in his achievements and in providing for his family. Known for his quick wit, dry sense of humor, and infectious smile, Dennis possessed a rare ability to always look on the positive side. He faced each day with a smile and quiet trust in the Lord. Dennis enjoyed playing baseball, football, and wrestling from an early age. As a devoted Chicago Cubs and Chicago Bears fan, he thoroughly enjoyed watching matchups and attending live games surrounded by those closest to him.

To those who knew him best, Dennis will be remembered as a man of remarkable courage, perseverance, and faith. He could be bossy and opinionated at times, but it always came from a place of love and protection. His faith in the Lord carried him through life's greatest challenges and served as an anchor for his loved ones. While Dennis worked hard at his business, his family was always his main focus. Nothing meant more to him than spending time with his loved ones, in a tight circle where close friends became family and family became friends.

Dennis is survived by his loving wife, Marianne Beechy; his mother, Jacqueline (Beechy) Mazzoni; his children, Grace Beechy, Nancy Beechy, and Kevin (Taylor) Beechy; his brothers and sisters, Kim (Tom) Reid, Wayde (Laura) Beechy, Billy (Kristy) Beechy, and Karen (Paul) Ilg; and his beloved grandchildren, Ryan, Rylee, Chance, Benny, Theo, and Melody. He was preceded in death by his father, Bill Beechy.

Dennis inspired us all by facing life's challenges with quiet strength. We take comfort knowing he lived a life blessed by God, is now resting in eternal peace, and has been made whole in the presence of his Lord and Savior (Philippians 3:21). His extraordinary legacy of faith, perseverance, and love will live in our hearts forever.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, August 22, 2026, at Hope Covenant Church, 14401 West Ave, Orland Park, Illinois. A gathering for family and friends will take place for two hours prior to the service, with specific times to be determined at a later date, followed by a private memorial service for the family.
