Cesar D. Fraga

Cesar D. Fraga passed away on July 18, 2026. Preceded in death by his father, Damian V. Fraga, Cesar leaves behind a legacy of laughter, generosity, and warmth. He is survived by his beloved mother, Maria I. Fraga, and his siblings: Jesus “Chuy” Fraga, Fina (Gelacio) Rodriguez, Fernando Fraga, Sylvia Fraga, and Viviana (Oscar) Fraga-Duarte. He will also be deeply missed by his nieces and nephews (Andres (Lucero) Rodriguez, Elizabeth (Victor Mendoza) Fraga, Micaella González, Patricia Rodriguez, Mateo Rodriguez, Gael Duarte, and Ezra Duarte), his grand-nieces and nephews (Joaquin Fraga, Zoraida Rodriguez, Elena Mendoza, Oliver Mendoza, Noelle Rodriguez, Luciano Fraga-Mendoza, Beau Rodriguez, and Elías Fraga- Mendoza), and his great-grand-niece, Jaelani Fraga.

Born on August 7, 1981, in Pilsen, Chicago, IL, Cesar was a bright and caring soul. He graduated from the University of Illinois at Chicago with a Bachelor of Science in Information and Decision Sciences. From a young age, Cesar naturally brought people together. Growing up playing basketball with friends, he made his home a fun and welcoming haven. His generous spirit extended into the neighborhood, where he dedicated his time to tutoring local kids through high school and college.

A passionate sports fan, Cesar faithfully cheered on the Chicago Bears, Blackhawks, Bulls, and White Sox. As he grew older, he continued to be a pillar of comfort for his family, ensuring his home remained a safe space for his nieces and nephews, always ready with a joke to make them laugh and smile. Cesar’s imagination was as big as his heart. A devoted sci-fi enthusiast, he loved Star Wars, Game of Thrones, and Marvel, though He-Man remained his absolute favorite superhero. He took great joy in his collection of Funko-Pop figurines, thoughtfully curating a beautiful rotating display of the characters he loved most.

Cesar was truly one of a kind—a real-life superhero to those who loved him. He will be dearly missed by all. 

Celebration of Life Service is still being planned and will be updated on plans are finalized.

César D. Fraga falleció el 18 de julio de 2026.  Precedido en la muerte por su padre, Damian V. Fraga, César deja un legado de alegría, generosidad y calidez. Le sobreviven su querida madre, Maria I. Fraga, y sus hermanos: Jesus “Chuy” Fraga, Fina (Gelacio) Rodriguez, Fernando Fraga, Sylvia Fraga y Viviana (Oscar) Fraga-Duarte. También deja con profundo pesar a sus sobrinos y sobrinas: Andres (Lucero) Rodriguez, Elizabeth (Victor Mendoza) Fraga, Micaella Gonzalez, Patricia Rodriguez, Mateo Rodriguez, Gael Duarte y Ezra Duarte; a sus sobrinos nietos y sobrinas nietas: Joaquin Fraga, Zoraida Rodriguez, Elena Mendoza, Oliver Mendoza, Noelle Rodriguez, Luciano Fraga-Mendoza, Beau Rodriguez y Elias Fraga-Mendoza; así como a su sobrina bisnieta, Jaelani Fraga. 

Nació el 7 de agosto de 1981, en Pilsen, Chicago, Illinois. César fue una persona brillante y de gran corazón. Se graduó de la Universidad de Illinois, en Chicago, con una Licenciatura en Ciencias en Información y Ciencias de la Decisión. Desde muy joven, César tenía el don de reunir a las personas. Mientras crecía, disfrutaba jugar baloncesto con sus amigos, convirtió su hogar en un lugar alegre y acogedor para todos. Su espíritu generoso también se extendió a su comunidad, donde dedicó parte de su tiempo a brindar tutorías a jóvenes del vecindario durante sus años de preparatoria y universidad.

Apasionado por los deportes, César apoyó con orgullo y fidelidad a los Chicago Bears, Blackhawks, Bulls y White Sox. Con el paso de los años, continuó siendo un pilar de fortaleza y consuelo para su familia, asegurándose de que su hogar siempre fuera un refugio seguro para sus sobrinos y sobrinas, donde nunca faltaba una broma para hacerlos reír y regalarles una sonrisa. La imaginación de César era tan grande como su corazón. Era un gran admirador de la ciencia ficción y disfrutaba de Star Wars, Game of Thrones y Marvel, aunque He-Man siempre fue su super héroe favorito. Sentía una gran alegría por su colección de figuras Funko Pop, las cuales organizaba con dedicación en una hermosa exhibición giratoria con los personajes que más apreciaba. César fue verdaderamente una persona única; un super héroe de la vida real para quienes tuvieron la dicha de conocerlo y amarlo. Su recuerdo permanecerá para siempre en los corazones de su familia y amigos, y será profundamente extrañado por todos.
