Benjamin Hamann Lee

Benjamin Hamann "Ben" Lee, aged 26, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on Sunday, June 1, 2025 of glioblastoma. Ben graduated from Downers Grove South High School in 2016 and the University of Illinois Champaign-Urbana in 2021. He found his friends on the Ultimate Frisbee Team at the University of Illinois and in the youth programs of the Episcopal Diocese of Chicago.

Ben was preceded in death by his father, Bill Lee. Ben is survived by his mother, Malinda Hamann; brother, Quentin Lee; aunts and uncles Lara and Chris Wannemacher and Shannon and Morgan Smith; grandparents William and Patti Lee, Dale and Sandra Hamann, and David and Lynn Pittinos; six cousins, and countless friends.

A funeral service and interment will be held at Saint Andrew's Episcopal Church, 1125 Franklin Street, Downers Grove, IL 60515 on Saturday, June 7, 2025 at 4:00 pm.
