Ana Maria Lugo Torres, age 85, passed away in Chicago Illinois surrounded by the love of her family. She will be remembered as a loving aunt and friend who had a heart of gold. Preceding her in death, she joins her parents Apolinar Lugo Torres and Guadalupe Lugo Torres, as well as her siblings, Jesus, Octavio, Nicolas, Maria Guadalupe, Luis, Francisco, Bernardo, and Pablo Lugo Torres in heaven.
She is survived by her sister Maria Isidra Teresa Lugo Sanchez.Ana Maria was born in Aguascalientes, Ags. Mexico where she lived before moving to Chicago in 1977. She had strong family values and a loving spirit that defined her life. She was a proud Godmother, Aunt and friend. Being a Tia to her nieces and nephews was her greatest pride and joy. Ana Maria loved being surrounded by her loved ones and cherished spending time with her family. Family gatherings, laughter, and togetherness brought her immense happiness.Her family will remember her as someone who found joy in the simple pleasures of life. She enjoyed crocheting, watching Telenovelas, and was always ready to join you on any adventure.
Ana Maria was a fabulous woman who was very intentional about putting on makeup and dressing up, even if it was just to go to her doctor visit. During her time in Mexico, Ana Maria frequently visited the beaches with family and friends. She was also passionate about what was happening around the world. Keeping her family informed of the incoming snowstorms or drastic weather changes was her way of showing her love and staying connected to her family.
Ana Maria Lugo Torres will be deeply missed and forever remembered for her loving heart, her strength, and her unwavering devotion to her family. Her warmth, kindness, and unconditional love touched everyone who knew her, and her legacy will continue through the many lives she nurtured and inspired.
Celebration of Life Mass to begin at 11:30 a.m. on February 21st, 2026 at St. Pius Church 1901 S Ashland Ave, Chicago, IL 60608. Final resting place will be at La Parroquia La Medallita Milagrosa in Aguascalientes, Ags. Mexico.

Ana María Lugo Torres, de 85 años, falleció en Chicago, Illinois, rodeada del amor de su familia. Será recordada como una tía amorosa y amiga que tenía un corazón de oro. Precediéndola en la muerte, se une a sus padres Apolinar Lugo Torres y Guadalupe Lugo Torres, así como a sus hermanos, Jesús, Octavio, Nicolás, María Guadalupe, Luis, Francisco, Bernardo y Pablo Lugo Torres en el cielo.
Le sobrevive su hermana María Isidra Teresa Lugo Sánchez. Ana María nació en Aguascalientes, Ags. México, donde vivió antes de mudarse a Chicago en 1977. Tenía fuertes valores familiares y un espíritu amoroso que definió su vida. Fue una orgullosa madrina, tía y amiga. Ser tía para sus sobrinos y sobrinas fue su mayor orgullo y alegría. A Ana María le encantaba estar rodeada de sus seres queridos y apreciaba pasar tiempo con su familia. Las reuniones familiares, las risas y la unión le trajeron una inmensa felicidad.
Su familia la recordará como alguien que encontró alegría en los placeres simples de la vida. Disfrutaba tejer a crochet, ver telenovelas y siempre estaba lista para acompañarte en cualquier aventura. Ana María era una mujer fabulosa que era muy intencional al maquillarse y vestirse, incluso si era solo para ir a su visita al médico. Durante su tiempo en México, Ana María visitaba frecuentemente las playas con familiares y amigos. También le apasionaba lo que estaba sucediendo en todo el mundo. Mantener a su familia informada de las tormentas de nieve que se avecinaban o los cambios climáticos drásticos era su forma de mostrar su amor y mantenerse conectada con su familia.
