I was sorry to hear of Mikes passing but grateful that I got the opportunity to share some adventures with him on my own life’s journey. My deepest sympathy to his brother Don and all who crossed paths with him. During his short life .

We are so saddened by Mike’s passing. He was our great friend for over a half century. Throughout high school and our adult life, Mike was always there making everyone laugh with his funny comments and wry outlook on life. He retold stories of his various (mis)adventures in a way that made us laugh at the frustrations and minor disappointments in life. He was also a friend who was there to help and support us when life took a serious turn. He was a wonderful person and a great friend and we will always miss him.

Very nice, Laurel and Tom. Kathleen and I will miss him terribly. I knew him for 45 years, Kath for 30. We too shared many events and adventures, and enjoyed his quips and commentaries. Thanks for sharing your remembrances.

Our loss is Heaven’s gain. Michael greatly impacted my life with his unconditional love and friendship. I truly will miss his dry humor and will always love him dearly from the depths of my soul.

I feel as if we lost the matriarch of our family and my heart is broken. New Years Eve has new meaning. I don’t believe he could have picked a better date for us to honor his legacy. Cheers Michael❣😘

Mike got to share in a close bond originating out of common interests with his brother Don. As Mike’s journey continues on a new path, the loss felt memorializes the great family bonds, interpersonal connections, strength, and love within the Howatt family. Mike will be remembered.

Living out of state for years and not returning to Chicago as much as I might have liked, I didn’t see Mike as often as many of you. Yet, my memories of him are as vivid as ever and always make me smile. I know how much he loved his family and friends and was loved in return. Flights of angels are waiting for you, Mike.

Just read of Mike’s passing…so very sorry for your loss. I saw Mike on occasion when I worked as Dorothy’s secretary in St. Charles. He was so nice and I always saw how much he loved his family.
