Mia Marie Cockriel, 47, of Aurora, IL, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, June 20, 2022.  The world has lost a beautiful, bright and wonderful shining light.  Mia had a big heart, a wicked sense of humor and an infectious laugh.  She was so full of life and was truly a special sister, daughter, Aunt, step-mom, partner, and friend.  There are not enough words to describe how much she will be missed.

Mia was preceded in death by her father Orville Wayne Cockriel; a half-sister, Amanda Nally; and paternal grandparents, Lonnie and Tina Cockriel.

Mia is survived by her mother, Yong Cha Cockriel, of Aurora, IL; brother, Wayne Cockriel, of Aurora,; sister, Dawn (Homer) Pedersen, of Morris, IL; nieces, Dezirae Cockriel, of Chicago, IL, Amber (Christopher Penwell) of Port Charlotte, FL; Sara (Griffin) Gilberstad, of Tellico Plains, TN; nephew, Owen Pedersen, of Morris, IL; half-sister, Krissy (Josh) Guthrie; two half nieces, Ivy Hazelton, Ariana Giresi-Nally, half nephew Oliver Bianco-Nally, all of Pennsylvania; her partner, Oscar De La Fuente; her step-daughter, Mya De La Fuente; and her two best friends, Jessica Tannenbaum and Daniel Kouvavas; and many, many friends.
