Martin Mendoza

Posted By Simplicity Funeral & Cremation Care On August 20, 2021 @ 4:28 pm In Obituaries | 19 Comments

Martin Mendoza (February 1972 – August 2021) was the youngest son of Henry and Veronica (Bea) Mendoza. He was a loving son, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin and friend.

It was never a dull moment when you were in his presence and he’s deeply missed by all who knew him. While he never had children, he cherished his late dogs Rusty and Chico as his babies. He dedicated his career to working construction and met many people along the way that became like family. Marty found no greater joy than sailing his boat on Lake Michigan. As captain of his boat he loved to entertain his many family and friends that would join him for a ride. He loved life and lived it to its fullest and now must sail on into eternal life.

His memory will live on in those he is survived by including his parents, brothers (Ralph and Alice) (Henry), sister (Anna), fiancé (Michele Dundon) and countless aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. As many would say, “ain’t no party without Marty.”

Memorial Service: Wednesday, August 25, 2021 at Providence of God Catholic Church, 717 West 18th Street (Corner of 18th Street and Union Street) Chicago, Illinois 60616. Family and friends will gather for a memorial service from 3:00 p.m. till the start of Mass/Celebration of Life Service at 7:00 p.m.

*****Chicago’s indoor mask mandate officially came back into effect*****

My brother Marty
As long as I knew you and all my friends that met you thought you were crazy but as soon as they got to know you. They knew why we were friends. You were the only person I knew from Chicago when we were in Missouri And what a change of my life was with you in it. You watched my kids grow up and I knew my kids were safe as long as you lived down the block. Keeping an eye out as always. Love you bro.

I don’t know who is still gonna see this . As , he died over a year ago . We were engaged to be married. I tell you something Marty was one of a kind. So many good things I had a couple bad lol but not really just didn’t have the right direction in many cases. We laughed everyday . Both were very hard workers so we worked. It worked at work, but we had everything we wanted. I just wanted to say that I miss him just like it was yesterday. His passing pulls of my heart strings every day. I swear . I truly don’t think I’ll ever get over this. I miss him so much .
