Last night I had a dream.  I dreamed I was walking along the beach with the Lord.

Across the sky flashed scenes from my life.  For each scene, I noticed two sets of

footprints in the sand: one belonged to me, the other to the Lord. After the last scene of my life flashed before me, I looked back at the footprints in the sand.  I noticed that at many times along the path of my life,

especially at the very lowest and saddest times, there was only one set of footprints. This really troubled me, so I asked the Lord about it.  “Lord, you said once I decided to follow you, You’d walk with me all the way.  But I noticed that during the saddest and most troublesome times of my life, there was only one set of footprints.  I don’t understand why, when I needed You the most, You would leave me.”

The Lord replied, “My precious child, I love you and I would never leave you.  During your times of suffering, when you could see only one set of footprints, it was then that I carried you.”

Dear Laura, I was fortunate enough to be Blessed with your friendship after meeting my wife and the Lopez sisters. Before then, I only knew a little bit about you. As a teenager, I remember seeing you, as you turned heads, up and down 18th street, with your charismatic ways and your stunning beauty. But after becoming part of the Lopez family. It was then that I truly began to experience first hand, your kindness and genuine compassion for others. That is when our relationship as friend’s became real. I remember you warning me, that if I ever hurt your niece Stephanie… I would have to answer to you. And in the same breath, you also welcomed me as a part of your family and reminded me that your door will always be open. And that is how I will always remember you. Kind, loving, blunt, tough, honest and loyal. You were always real and never faked the funk. Especially, when it came to your family and friends. I will always remember you and I will always be grateful for all that you did for me and my family. Thank you for sharing your life with us. Love you always. Lil Rick

My Tia Laura you will be truly missed. My Tia the true badass, without fear, courageous and true to herself. You were a beautiful lady, artistic, creative and hard working . I remember all the fun times we had when we were kids. The festivals, block parties, parades and carnivals you created for us. You made my childhood so fun. Your legacy will live on in your beautiful children. I love you my Tia, you are now in God’s glory.
