Joan McDermott Age 86 of Mayslake Village passed away on November 11, 2022. Funeral Mass for Joan will celebrated 10:00am on Thursday, November 17, 2022 at Mayslake Village Chapel, 1801 35th St., Oak Brook. Private burial next to her parents Elizabeth (nee McShane) & Daniel McDermott will take place at St. Mary Cemetery in Evergreen Park.

Just learning of Joan’s passing. Saddened not to have been at her funeral mass. We met as student nurses in 1956 at St Bernard’s School of Nursing. We remained friends for many years until we lost contact. It’s important to know that Joan was an R.N. and provided conscientious care to her patients in many nursing specialities, her favorite being the newborn nursery. Many of our classmates have passed on, may Joan join them in heaven. Her catholic religion was very important and foremost in her life and nursing career. We who remain keep her in our prayers and wish her peace which she struggled for all her life. God bless dear friend. The Golden Girls Classmates

Saddened to hear of Joan’s passing. She was a marvelous nurse and an very good friend.
