Jesus C. Gutierrez (Jesse) born September 14, 1956 in Yuriria, Guanajuato, Mexico, Jesse emigrated to the US in December 1969 with his mother and four sisters. He graduated from Kelly high school, obtained a degree in Business Administration from UIC, studied at the Catholic Theological Union for a Master’s in Pastoral Studies, and went on to attend the Instituto para Catequesis Hispana and later join its faculty, teaching catechists in numerous parishes in the Archdiocese. Jesse leaves behind a vast legacy of ministry and service in the Archdiocese of Chicago. He worked at St. Roman Parish as a Pastoral Associate, volunteered at Holy Trinity Croatian as a catechist in the Religious Education Program and Liturgical celebrations, worked in the Centro Santo Toribo Romo to support the immigrant population through his advocacy and the training of community leaders at 13 different churches, and served as consultant to the Archdiocese in Renew My Parish.

The last of his services was as an ESL instructor at the Circle of the Society of Helpers, a Community Resource Center for Women in Brighton Park.

Jesse is survived by his mother, four sisters, five nieces and nephews, and the countless other lives he touched in his ministry.

Jesus C. Gutierrez (Jesse)  Nació el 14 de Septiembre de 1956 en Yuriria, Guanajuato, México.  Jesse emigro a los Estados Unidos en Diciembre de 1969 en compañía de su mama y sus cuatro hermanas.  Se graduó de la High School Kelly, y obtuvo su título en Administración de Negocios de UIC, curso una maestría en Estudios Pastorales, en la Catholic Theological Union, y atendió el Instituto para Catequesis Hispana y tiempo después pasó a formar parte de la facultad, formando a las catequistas en varias parroquias de la Arquidiócesis.  Jesse nos deja un vasto legado de ministerio y servicio en la Arquidiócesis de Chicago. Trabajó en La Parroquia de San Román como Pastor Asociado, como voluntario en Holy Trinity Croatian dando catequesis en el Programa de Educación Religiosa y celebraciones eucarísticas, trabajó en el Centro Santo Toribio Romo apoyando y abogando por la población migrante y entrenando a líderes de la comunidad 13 diferentes iglesias, también fungió como asesor de la Arquidiócesis en Renew My Parish.

La última de sus colaboraciones fue como Maestro de Inglés como segundo idioma en el Circulo de la Sociedad de Auxiliadoras, Un Centro Comunitario para Mujeres en Brighton Park.

A Jesse le sobreviven su mamá, cuatro hermanas, cinco sobrinos, e innumerable vidas que toco a través de su ministerio.
