Francisca “Fanny” Izguerra was and continues to be loved beyond measure. She’s the most incredible mother, grandmother, sister, friend, and the light of her husband’s life. She left this world suddenly on May 23, 2022, at age 61.
She was born to Raul and Epifania Gaytan Alvarado on October 25, 1960 in Saltillo, Coahuila, Mexico. At 16, she met and fell in love with Rafael Izguerra, they married, moved to Chicago, Illinois, and the rest is beautiful history. They were together for 46 inspiring years. They were that type of marriage you cannot believe still exists — a true embodiment of love.
Fanny was a faithful woman of God who loved to share His message. Her strong faith was evident to anyone who met her. Her energy and zest for life filled the room, and her positivity uplifted many. She touched countless hearts across states and countries. She truly was the epitome of joy. We can go on and on about what a treasure she was, but the words would never end.
We all lost a great woman with one of the biggest and best hearts on this earth. We don’t know how to move on from this tragic loss, but we know that she will always live on in the best parts of us.
Fanny is survived by her devoted husband, Rafael Izguerra; her loving children, Julio Rafael Izguerra, Mayra Nungaray, and Lilian Flores; and her eight grandchildren, Tanya, Sophie, Neo, Nathan, Mia, Max, Noa, and Zoe.
A wake will be held to honor her on Tuesday, May 31, 2022, from 4-9 pm, with a service at 7 pm at New Life Community Church, 5333 W 151st St, Oak Forest, IL 60452.
