Elmer Ray Taylor, 63, passed away Monday, August 20, 2018 at his home in Braidwood IL. He was born in Peoria on June 1, 1955 to Florence “Betty” and Raymond Taylor. They preceded him in death. Formerly of Lacon and Chillicothe, he married Patricia Taylor on November 21, 1983. She preceded him in death in 2016.

Surviving are his children Stacy (Jeff) Schott of Braidwood, Shane (Angela) Crew of Lacon and Jamie Taylor North of Nebraska. He was blessed with seven grandchildren – Alyson, Derek, Landon, Sean, Jaxon, Austin and Rally. Elmer was one of 14 brothers and sisters: Jimmy (Kim) Taylor of Peoria, Leon (Syd) Buell of Chillicothe, Joe (Loretta) Taylor of Orland Park, Earl (Martha) Buell of Peoria, Chris (Rose) Taylor of Peoria, PennyTaylor and Pam (Bob) Martinez both of California, Jeff (Gloria) Taylor of East Peoria, Michelle (Joe) Keys of Peoria, Randy (Christine) Taylor of North Carolina and Marcella Horton of Alabama. He was preceded in death by one sister Nola Sonne and one brother Johnnie Buell. With that many siblings he had so many nieces and nephews!

Elmer loved to spend time with his family and friends. Cremation rites will be accorded and there will be private graveside services. Memorials can be made to the Braidwood Fire Protection District in Elmer’s name.
