I absolutely adored Ed. I have so many memories of motorcycle events with the Chicago Eagles and snowmobiling in Northern Wisconsin. He loved to tease me and watch me freak out. Can I say “snow snakes”
I’m sorry for his passing and hope Joyce, Judy and Cindy know how much he was loved by his friends. I pray you all find comfort in the coming months.

Goodbye Ed.
Gee, Where do I start. I first met Ed at My first Chicago Eagles Motorcycle club meeting in 1972. Bob Bernard, who was a motorsports dealer, and who I had just purchased a Yamaha Motorcycle from him , had talked me into coming to a meeting. So happened Bob did not attend the meeting that night, so I did not know anyone there.
I happened to sit next to Ed whom I did not know, but after a few minutes we were having a discussion about bikes and Ed said, You know, You love motorcycles, but you gotta try snowmobiles. Heck, I didn’t even know what a snowmobile was, let alone ever seeing one. After a very enjoyable conversation at the meeting, it was a start of an almost 50 year close friendship.
I can’t count how many times Ed and I rode our bikes in the summer, and made trips to northern Wisconsin in the winter to ride our sleds. Its hard to describe how Motorcycles and Snowmobiles can solidify a friendship like Ed and I had.
The machines we enjoyed were just the catalyst of our friendship, just what brought us together. But what kept us together was the tight friendship, and the fact that Ed was just a heck of a good Guy.
I once heard that when you go through life, you can count on one hand how many true friends you have. I can certainly count Ed on that one hand.
I will miss Ed terribly, and remember him forever.

You and your family were very important to him as well. So many of my childhood memories include you all and the many snowmobile trips and motorcycle runs/picnics. He was truly blessed to have such a great friend.

Judy, Joyce and Family – so very sorry to hear about the loss of Ed the ultimate Eagle. I know he’s up there with Bob riding in the sunshine.

I will miss our neighbor Ed very much. He was a great friend to my family, and a kind of father figure to me. He always helped me figure out how to work on projects around the house the way my father always did. He was the first person I met when I moved into to the neighborhood and we hit it off like old friends immediately. I will miss the summer nights sitting by the bonfire having a good laugh and sharing a few drinks together. I’m very sorry for your loss and I will always remember the way he laughed and his way of giving Me advice when I asked.
