Eden Vargas Garcia,66, of Chicago, Illinois passed away on Saturday August 7th, 2021

In Eden’s early 20’s he left Mexico and planted roots in the Pilsen Neighborhood. Eden was caring and giving and most notably a big prankster/bromista. The grandchildren will always be able to think back and laugh about the times he would take his dentures out of his mouth to scare them.  A lover of singing and playing music, a master chef, and the ultimate politic talker.  Affectionately nicknamed “El Borracho.” He leaves us with a lot of great memories. He will be missed dearly

Eden is survived by his loving children; Alicia Vargas, Miguel Vargas, Asusena Vargas (Nena), his 12 cherished grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren as well as his father Silvestre Vargas and mother Elena Garcia his brothers and sisters : Rene, Heriberto, Juan Enrique, Amador, Sesar, Marta and Adelina.

I’m so sorry to know of Eden’s passing. His wife & children lived in my dad’s building on Cullerton, then at Lugo’s Hotel in the 80’s. Why did he pass? He always seemed cheerful & on the go. I know he smoked & loved his coffee. My deepest sympathy to the Family 🙏🏻 God bless y’all. Lupe Angie Lugo
