Bruce J. Case, Sr., age 71, of St. John, Indiana passed away peacefully due to complications from COVID on January 1, 2022.  He was surrounded by his family and wanted to ring in the New Year one last time.  He is survived by his loving wife, Linda, nee Rudolph, of 50 years.  Loving father of Bruce, Jr. (Tammie), Krystin (Bill) Obermeier and Robyn (David Brown) Case.  Cherished Papa of Bruce, III, Justin, Alex, Bethaney (Nathanial), Bryce, Mason, Logan, Sean, Ava, Henry, Kaitlynne, and Zachary.  Great Grandpa of Kynzlee and Zander.  Fond Uncle, beloved Nephew, Cousin and faithful companion to his dog, Lucky.  Bruce was preceded in death by his parents Frank and Virginia and his brother, Wayne Case.

Bruce was a retired truck driver of Local Union 705.  In his retirement days, he enjoyed fishing, watching football and his beloved Cubs, yard work, driving his truck, road trips to South Dakota and spending time with his family on Sunday afternoons.  He will be sorely missed by many.  Bruce loved to agitate and aggravate everyone. He lived a short, but full life.

Funeral Service to be held 11am Thursday, January 6, 2022 at Elmwood Funeral Chapel and Crematory, 11300 W. 97th Ln, St. John, IN. Burial will be at Maplewood Cemetery in Crown Point. Visitation Wednesday 3-8pm.

We’d like to thank the wonderful staff and nurses at William J. Riley House, Munster Indiana who cared for Bruce in his final hours of life. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Calumet Area Hospice can be made by clicking the link www.hospicecalumet.org
