In Memorial

James Paul Faklaris, 61, of Chicago, passed away on Wednesday, January 10, 2018 at Loyola University Medical Center. James was born on August 24, 1956, in Chicago, the son of John and Clara (Dyson) Faklaris. He married Izabela Maria Plonczak on May 17, 2008.  Izabela survives, along with two brothers, Michael (Jean) Faklaris of Waleska, GA, and Duke (Carol) Faklaris of Washington, IL, an uncle, James (Kathy) Dyson, nine nieces and nephews, and several cousins.

James was an entrepreneur, applying his machining and metal spinning skills in a partnership business, The Spinsmiths in Schaumburg, IL. After the business was sold, James worked for Progressive Bronze Products, LLC in Chicago, IL, where he ended his career as the manufacturing manager in charge of general machining and manufacturing. He loved working with the people at Progressive, and we thank the individuals of that fine organization for their kind thoughts and words extended to the family.

The family wishes to acknowledge the work performed by the staff at both Rush University Medical Center and at Loyola University Medical Center during James’s extended illness. We also wish to acknowledge the Gift of Hope not-for-profit organization and James’s willingness to donate his organs and tissues so that the Gift of Hope doctors might help others in need. We can think of no better testimonial to James than to have others benefit from this gift.

James is to be cremated. The family will conduct a private service at a later time.

To the family of James,
I was not only a friend of James during high school, I was his sister-in-law for a brief time. It was my relationship with James that introduced him to my sister Renee. It was nice having him not just as a brother-in-law, but a friend too. I remember him to be the kind of person that not only was smiling all of the time but would also do anything for you. We were saddened to hear of his passing and would like to express my sincerest condolences to his wife and family. Sincerely, Lori & Bob Burgess

Tom:
Thanks for your kind words and remembrances. Although I am seven years older than James, I remember meeting you at one time. Hope you and your family are doing well.
James was a bit of a rascal, but he was a good man. We will miss him.
We have posted an obituary on the Simplicity site this afternoon, for people to view.
Again, many thanks for remembering our brother. Much appreciated.
